Who are the
players?
|
Authorities
on stand mixers typically will consider only a handful of
mixers qualified to be compared on the same level. Of
all the mixers available most of the competition boils down to
KitchenAid, Kenwood, Hamilton Beach, Magic Mill, and of course
the BOSCH. There are
definitely other mixers that are
sold in the mass and specialty markets however, the majority
of them are cheap knock-offs and poor imitations of the mixers
listed above.
So
what should you look for in a mixer? Experts agree that potential mixer purchasers
should look for Weight, Capacity, Noise, Power, Speed, and
Attachments. Obviously your goal is to find the mixer
that combines each of these qualities plus a great price.
We will add
that you should be very wary of the manufacturer of any mixer
that you are contemplating purchasing. We mentioned above
that there are many imitation mixers boasting life-time
warranties and "too-good-to-be-true" sales
pitches. It's important that you know how your mixer is
manufactured and by whom. That is one of the reasons
that we love the BOSCH...a proven manufacturer with a proven
product that is known world wide for superior engineering
& quality. We will not sell an inferior product that
is less money just because it was manufactured in Korea.
Having said
all of that, please take a look at the comparison matrix below:

A
note on Kitchen
Aid: KitchenAid has the largest most robust
distribution channel of all mixer manufacturers. We
are often asked why you cannot find the Bosch Mixers in
mainstream retailing markets. It all boils down to
money. The Bosch inherently has much lower margins and
thus are much less attractive to these retailing
outlets. In other words, a retailer can't make as much
money on a Bosch as they can on a KitchenAid. What that
means to you is when you purchase a Bosch,
you are getting the best quality mixer
for the best possible price.
Pound for Pound the Bosch offers more mixer for the money
and allows you to expand your capabilities in ways that
are much more convenient and intuitive than the KitchenAid.
Don't get me wrong. KitchenAid has
a large fan base and customers who are just as loyal to
them as our BOSCH customers are to us...however, the KitchenAid
just does not measures up to the BOSCH.
We found their mixer to be one of the most cumbersome,
but if you are looking for a mixer that shows well and comes
in multiple colors, then maybe the KitchenAid is for
you...If you are looking for a Universal Kitchen Machine that looks nice and
mixes incredibly, then (in our humble opinion) the BOSCH
is hands-down the best buy.
